Flooring can be a necessary part of any room and sometimes even regarded as a focal point, and so should not be forgotten about or overlooked, as it can be the final part to your interior décor.

During my time renovating and decorating my home I have found out alot about the different types of flooring. One very useful pieces of advice is to always take home and use flooring samples before you invest.

In my home I have primarily used wooden flooring, especially in the bedrooms and dining room, as it gives the house a classic feel regardless of the colour scheme of the room. A room can be contemporary and modern, or rustic and retro, but will still benefit from the added element of wooden flooring. Simply because it is so adaptable.

Wooden flooring comes in a range of styles and colours. it makes the responsibility of cleaning up after them, so much easier. There are however, some rooms of the house where wooden flooring is just not suitable. These rooms are especially bathrooms and kitchens as water will damage wooden flooring permanently.

For these type of rooms, its ...
... is advisable to use a flooring material like tiles or laminate. Both of which are very hard wearing and can cope with spillages, stains and water. Carpets are not feasible in these rooms either, for the same reason as hardwood flooring, they can easily be damaged. Carpets are more suitable in bedrooms and living rooms, they make a room feel more comfortable and warm.

In my bathroom I have a laminate flooring, however it does misleadingly look like a wooden floor Many laminates currently are designed to trick the eye to thinking the floor is made of wood or tiles, but are in fact a photographic image transferred onto a tough layer of board, they are also less likely to suffer from scratches than real wooden floors. Laminate flooring is a less expensive and more effective way of having a authentic looking wooden floor in any room of a house.

In spite of laminate flooring being synthetic it looks and appears very realistic. I used a hardwood flooring dallas company not only for my bathroom, but also my kitchen. Various styles and colour of laminate are available to add to the overall décor of that particular room. Tiling can be used as flooring of kitchens and bathrooms however tiles are much more pricey.

I have used a variety of materials, whilst decorating my house. I have tailored it to suit the needs of each room and my budget, I hope this blog helps!!
