Have you already opened a commercial printing business? Or you are still planning to become a commercial printer within a specific time frame? If this is the case, you will need to consider the many capitalization expenses that you will incur. That includes the marketing expense. Commercial printing is a big business that entails big capitalization so you will need to pool your resources together in order to be able to start a full service print shop. But you also need to market your business so that people will know about your new company and they can start bringing their printing jobs to you.

Estimate Your Capitalization and Some Extras
Before you open your commercial printer business, look at how much money you have. That includes your savings, investments to your company if you have, and the loans that will be able to apply for.

But if you come to think of it, if you do not advertise or market your new company how will you have clients? Your potential customers do not know that you are already in business and they do not know what you are offering so how will they seek you out.

Many printing companies fail because they invest about a million dollars in setting up their printing press then they just wait for the customers to come in. Then after six months that business is not picking up, they say that this is bad business and they close up. But the fact of the matter is that they failed to advertise and market their printing business. It is just sad that you spend so much for capitalization but you don’t want to spend even just a couple of thousands of dollars in marketing. And with that you risk losing your million-dollar investment.

Along with your business plan, you also should have a marketing plan for the commercial printing business you are going to start. You should not only go through the paid advertising route, but you should also look into those avenues where you will get free publicity. Like for example, you could send out press releases announcing your new business to local newspapers and networks. Or you can have a blessing or inauguration, invite local officials, and then invite the media. If they do not come, send them a photo release complete with the captions of about your new business.

There are so many roads that you can take in promoting your new commercial printing business. The success of being a commercial printer is letting people know that you are in business and that you are offering such services. You do not just wait for people to find out about you. You have to tell them.
