If you are in the process of redecorating your home, it can be attractive to use French style home accessories. Many people now look to old European cultures for ideas relating to interior design, it is often believed that a Gallic theme can create a warm and relaxing ambience, which is often missing from modern homes. The best approach to take would be to go from room to room, and analyze how you can create a rustic French charm.

A good place to start would be in the bathroom. Search online and in local retail outlets for wrought iron furnishings. A traditional iron bathtub can be a great centerpiece. There is also the possibility of getting hold of traditional towel racks and hooks that add to the overall appeal. To complete the look, search for traditional soap dishes and dispensers. Do not forget the floor and walls, a stone floor with ceramic tiled walls can be a great finishing touch to a bathroom.

France is famous for its cuisine. Creating a French style kitchen should not be too difficult. There are modern appliances such as stoves and refrigerators that take their influence from a bygone age. If you can ...
... afford it, invest in a traditional stove, this would look perfect in a rustic themed kitchen. There are almost no end of accessories which can be bought that would add to the look of a kitchen.

Instead of using a lot of plastic in the kitchen, opt for metal or glass containers. Search thrift stores and classified ads for accessories that are printed with the French language. You should not have too much difficulty locating bread boxes, chopping boards, provencal tablecloths, and other odds and ends that are replete with Gallic phrases.

The dining room is an area that can be transformed to appear as if in a simple cottage in a rural corner of France. Use warm earth tones to decorate the walls and furnishings. Choose frilly and fluffy pillows and cushions. A few hangings and pictures that depict traditional scenes can add to the overall effect. If there is a fireplace in the dining room, why not consider having this renovated to appear the same as was what would have been found in a traditional family home.

Though our bedrooms are thought of as a private space, this does not mean you should not place such an importance on the decor. With a few subdued lighting fixtures, and a choice of pastel shaded bedding and curtains, you can wake each day feeling like you are in the Parisian suburbs.
Boutique Provencal offer a beautiful range of French Country style accessories, French Pottery, French Gifts and provencal tablecloths which would make really lovely unique gifts.
