... marketing is one such type that has gained immense popularity with time.
It is a widespread belief that large numbers of people can be targeted at once by e-mail marketing. Sending out the same e-mail to probably thousands of people might fetch positive results for the company. When a particular customer responds to that e-mail, the online marketing personnel get an opportunity to communicate directly with the customer. This process also happens through chain e-mails and the SMTP mail server plays its part here also. The better functioning of the SMTP server, the faster mails will be sent and received and faster will be the communication between the customer and the marketing agent.
Lot depends on the settings and the configuration of the SMTP mail server. A mail transferring agent, known as MTA or SMTP relay server plays an active role when bulk e-mail messages are sent out from a particular e-mail id. These mails may be designated for various e-mail ids. The SMTP server is set in such a manner that it knows to which domains the e-mails have to be delivered. If there is any problem in sending the message to a particular email id, an error notification is immediately sent to the sender’s inbox mentioning that the mail could not be sent to the particular e-mail id.
However, there are some serious and critical issues that crop up with SMTP mail server. Since most of these SMTP servers are installed and configured to send innumerable and bulk e-mails, many times the limit is crossed of sending mails via the server. Then mails are not sent and an error message is flashed in the sender’s inbox. When overloaded and over burdened with innumerable emails, the SMTP mail server tends to show up issues and problems in a great way. Some SMTP servers also take care of the content of the mail and send offensive mails to the spam folder. This enhances security of the e-mail id too.
