Successful Solo Careers Of Take That Members
Before and after stepping into Take That as a band, members Gary Barlow, Jason Orange, Mark Owen, Robbie Williams and Howard Donald have and had their own solo careers and appearances.
Lead vocalist and songwriter of Take That and X Factor judge, Gary Barlow, began with a solo career that was beforehand predicted to be as successful as the veteran George Michael’s. Gary came out with his own album ‘Open Road’ in early 1997, which had reached number 1 slot in the UK albums chart. Gary’s both first singles ‘Forever Love’ and ‘Love Won’t Wait’ topped UK charts.
‘So Help Me Girl’ was Barlow’s first ever single to have released in the UK. The track even featured on spot 44 on the Billboard Top 100. Barlow’s music set a rage throughout UK and Netherlands with two of his releases as ‘Open Road’ and ‘Are You Ready Now’ again peaking Billboard Singles chart.
Howard Donald’s official solo career never took off in isolation from the pop group. While being apart for around 10 years from the band, Donald continued to work as a disc-jockey and even has small German fanbase. As part ...
... of the boyband, he solely sang and wrote several songs for Take That, including ‘If This Is Love’ from ‘Everything Changes’. Donald’s solo numbers during his Take That career take in ‘Never Forget’, ‘Beautiful World’ and ‘Here’.
Take That member, English musician, on and off actor, Jason Orange’s solo career never began, parting from the band. During his detachment and reunion with Take That, Orange took up acting, setting aside his instruments and vocal skills. In London, he performed various times onstage and even appeared on Channel 4 with thriller ‘Killer Net’.
After split from Take That, the third best ex-member to enjoy a successful solo career was Mark Owen. On UK singles chart, Owen peaked with his debut single ‘Child’. His back-to-back hit singles to have peaked UK music scene include ‘Clementine’ and ‘I am What I am’. Owen even made it big with winning the Celebrity Big Brother in 2002. However, he did not take forever to return to music charts again as Owen once again released two peak albums—‘In Your Own Time’ and ‘How The Mighty Fall’.
Lastly, for Robbie Williams, it was indeed a successful career, both off-Take That and on-Take. While away, he released peaking solo albums like ‘I’ve Been Expecting You’, ‘Life Thru A Lens’, ‘Sing When You’re Winning’, ‘Swing When You’re Winning’,Write Write‘Escapology’ and ‘Intensive Care’. Each of Rob’s albums not only scored well in the UK, but throughout US and across Europe too.
Though, Take That as a band, has no other alternative. It is beyond the world experience to watch the original five-piece boyband to perform live than anything. So, be quick and book your take that tickets for their soon-to-begin tour.
