Choosing A Bed
A bed is one of the most challenging things to buy when furnishing a house. There are so many things to consider when buying this piece of furniture: design, comfort, the mattress, the headboards, and compatibility with the rest of the furniture in the bedroom. With the wide array of choices for bed frames and mattresses, it is indeed a challenge to select a bed to fit your bedroom. With so many people experiencing increased stress in their lives, the search for a bed that guarantees full relaxation and rest has never been more important.
Choices for beds range from soft or firm mattresses, low or high bed frames and single, full, queen or king sized. There are also some beds that offer storage options. So what should a person consider for maximum benefits?
The average person stays in bed at least 6 hours every day. That’s 180 hours a month! Thus, one must invest in a bed. It is a piece of furniture that gets a lot of use, so the expense should be viewed as a worthwhile investment. As for space, it would ideal for a person to have as much space as possible when sleeping. A bed with a sleigh frame ...
... is great for seekers of spacious beds because they are usually generously sized. Of course, the room where the bed will be installed in should also be considered. One should not insist on furnishing a small bedroom with a California king sized platform bed. The size of the bedroom will dictate the amount of other bedroom furniture and the size of the bed. It’s important to allot enough space for people to move around comfortably after all the furniture has been installed.
Another thing to consider is installing headboards for beds. Beds with headboards look more complete and polished, and create a complete bedroom package when paired with other furniture. There are a lot of varieties of bed headboards, with many practical people opting for headboards that also double as storage space. Shelf headboards are very convenient for bookworms who love to be near their books even while trying to get some rest. Padded headboards, meanwhile, look more luxurious and can offer a softer headboard option. Complementing the rest of the bedroom furniture is important in selecting a headboard. For instance, a cherry headboard may not be the best choice if the rest of your bedroom is filled with mirrored furniture.
One of the ongoing debates about bed frames is whether to get something that has height or one that’s closer to the floor. Design wise, shorter beds like the platform frame look more modern and streamlined, perfect for those who’d like their rooms to appear more contemporary. For those who would like a more traditional look, beds with traditional heights are ideal. Other than the look, comfort should also be considered, of course. Low beds may prove to be inconvenient and uncomfortable for older people who do not wish to bend down to get to bed. Beds with a regular height like a sleigh bed would be more ideal for those with knee problems or other health concerns as it is easier to get in them.
Choosing a bed is an individual decision. The choice is ultimately about personal preferences, but these tips can serve as a guide in assessing what options are important to you. For more infromation to visit us http://www.hookerfurniture.com
