Your home spa is the special place where you let go of your worries and relax. The increasing pressure of everyday life makes it imperative that you should take some time off and be on your own. However, you will have to put in some effort to maintain your home spa.

Hot Tub Cleaning is an essential part of the home spa maintenance. How often you clean your tub depends on the instruction on the product manual. Otherwise, once a month cleaning is enough for most of the products. The cleaning can be done in many ways. To remove the dirt, you will have to scrub the tub clean manually. There needs to be chemical cleaning also.

You can use spa chemicals to restore the normal clarity of the water if it becomes cloudy. There are chlorine granules, which you can use to clean the water as well as disinfect it. If you are allergic to chlorine, you can use bromine tablets to clarify water instead.

Hot Tub Filters ...
... let the water flow into your tub after filtration. This blocks the bacteria, hair, oil, dead skin, bugs and such other particles. It is important that you keep this clean and in perfect condition, to ensure that it works properly.

There are different types of filters you will find in the market. There is sand filter. As a filter medium, sand is used in this one. The sand mixes up with water and drags the dirt away. However, very small particles can pass through this. You will have to use spa cleaner to prevent this. You will have to replace the sand as well, every couple of years. Remember that just any sand will not serve the purpose; you will have to find a certain type to fill inside the filter.

Cartridge filter is the most common type you will find. You should let water run for minimum one hour each day. This will ensure good water circulation. How many times you clean your filter, depends on the instruction manual. Usually, the filter should be cleaned once a month. While cleaning, make sure to use only product specially made for filter cartridge cleaning. Soap based products and car waxes should not be used for this cleaning.

Each tub has a filter. Although, the filters are in different sizes and shapes, only one specific size will fit your tub. You should replace the filter once a year. To clean this, you will have to take it out of your tub and spray water on it to remove the dirt. In case of removing oil or any kind of lotion from the filter, you will have to soak it for more than an hour in filter cleaner. Do not forget to turn off the power while cleaning this thing.

Regular and effective cleaning is necessary to increase the lifespan of you tub filter. As the filter improves, your spa not only will function better, you will be able to use it for much longer period.
