Through extensive studies, it has been found that the main culprit in hair loss is DHT. Therefore, to stop hair loss the goal is to block DHT. There are several methods of blocking DHT, but one of the easiest methods is taking a hair loss pill. While there are many different kinds to choose from, the most effective are those containing saw palmetto.

Taking a hair loss pill can accomplish blocking DHT for a number of reasons. First, it will keep DHT from attaching to the receptors in the hair follicles. It will also reduce the substances that can produce the enzyme 5 alpha reductase. But most importantly, it will completely inhibit the production of the enzyme 5 alpha reductase. This is vital because 5 alpha reductase converts testosterone into DHT.

Pills containing saw palmetto are among the most widely known and accepted natural forms to block DHT. Many studies have found that saw palmetto is an effective anti-androgen, which works much like propecia does.

There is an efficient two step process that saw palmetto goes through. First, it will lower the levels of DHT in the body by blocking the ...
... 5 alpha reductase. Then, the saw palmetto will block receptor sites on cell membranes that are required for cells to absorb DHT.

Studies have shown that pills containing saw palmetto used in the treatment of benign prostatic disease depend on the production of dihydrotestosterone. This is relevant because this disease depends on the production of dihydrotestosterone just like Androgenetic alopecia. All of the studies performed have shown that saw palmetto is an effective antiandrogen.

Because it is an effective antiandrogen, one can assume that it is an effective treatment for Androgenetic alopecia. It acts as a potent herbal DHT inhibitor and can prevent hair loss and promote hair growth.

A majority of the people taking hair loss pills with saw palmetto have no adverse side effects. This is not to say that you will not though, because everyone reacts to medication differently. Some minor side effects that may become relevant include stomach irritation and feelings of indigestion. The easiest way to prevent these side effects from occurring is by taking your pills with a full stomach.

While there are several types of hair loss pills to choose from, studies and research have found that saw palmetto is one of the most effective methods. There are very few side effects to worry about and it properly blocks DHT, which is the primary cause of hair loss. Now you can stop worrying about hair loss and focus on hair growth.
