As times change, the employment concept of college students is changing. Nowadays, as the voice of “raising salary” is becoming stronger and stronger, a large number of college students emphasize soft treatment of enterprises like culture of enterprise and prospect of career development more than salary and welfare when finding jobs. And meanwhile, enterprises attach importance to soft power apart from considering diploma and professional skills.

It is said that there are 390,000 fresh graduates in Guangdong Province. Added post graduates and graduates from other provinces who come to Guangdong to seek jobs, there are totally over 600,000 graduates wanting to find jobs. And this year’s employment environment is relatively loose. According to Guangdong Human Resource and Social Welfare Office, the rate of fresh graduates who have found jobs and signed an agreement is 78% by the end of June.

Although having graduated, graduates who haven’t found a job so far seem very calm. They always shop around for the best price rather than hurry to make decisions. Student Yang of South China Normal University said that ...
... “I major in English. I haven’t decided to do a specified job and I don’t have to work in large enterprises. But the enterprise I work for must have good a prospect as well as compassionate. And the enterprise provides opportunities for employees to study and train regularly.”

In the past, college students emphasized salary while finding jobs and were proud of working in large enterprises. However, some graduates who are working in large enterprises want job-hopping to small enterprises.

Wu Hao, who has found a job, was waiting in line for an interview. What is confusing is that he came to an unknown enterprise while he was working in a large multinational enterprise. Wu explained that his present job often needed working extra hours and the working atmosphere was rather serious and nervous. Moreover, working there was competitive and there were too many hard standards, which made him see no prospect. “Though the salary of this small enterprise is lower over 1,000 yuan than that of my present job, I like its promotion system and welfare. I have a friend working here and he said the atmosphere here is good.”
