Looking At The Nokia N9 And The Htc Evo 3d
Two of the most talked about handsets of 2011 are undoubtedly the impressive HTC Evo 3D and the Nokia N9. Whilst the HTC model brings high quality 3D to the mobile phone market the new Nokia excites thanks to its stylish looks and brand new Meego operating system. If you are in the market for the most cutting edge phone this summer which one of these two models should be grabbing your attention?
Both of these two models score very highly in the looks department but for very different reasons. The Nokia N9 looks unlike any other phone that is currently available. Its striking looks make it appear more like a concept model than a phone set for release into the mass market. Perhaps the most pleasing aspect of this model is the visible lack of physical buttons on the front of the device which has enabled Nokia to take the screen to the very edges of the phones body. Rather than incorporating softer edges as can be found on many other models the N9 keeps the angles very clinical and sharp yet in practice this design is very comfortable in the hand. The HTC Evo 3D certainly follows a more traditional design which is ...
... in keeping with other models from the brand. The big difference here however is that the Evo 3D includes some flashier elements which do really make the model stand out. When you flip the device over and look at the back panel you are greeted with a carbon fibre texture together with dual camera lenses which are neatly finished with a metallic red trim. Little touches such as these make the phone look every inch the top end handset that it is.
Looking at the performance side of both models and the HTC Evo 3D offers some big advantages in more than one area. With regards to the speed of the phone the model sports a high speed 1.2Ghz processor chip which benefits from dual cores meaning multi tasking is lightning fast and other aspects of the model operate at similarly impressive speeds. The N9 is no slouch and can boast a fast 1Ghz Cortex A8 chip that is capable of eclipsing many modern smartphones. Both phones offer great graphics processing so gaming and a host of other features benefit from smooth and vivid graphics. Obviously a key factor behind just how clear any material looks is the screen that is on offer and the HTC once again take the plaudits here thanks to a large 4.3 inch size and impressive 540 x 960 resolution. Despite the Nokia N9 being fairly on par in this area thanks to its 3.9 inch 480 x 854 display the HTC has the benefit of offering 3D capabilities which puts it ahead in this instance.
The Nokia N9 is shaping up to be a very great model indeed however it has some way to go before it matches the excellence on offer with the HTC Evo 3D
The HTC Evo 3D and the Nokia N9 are coming soon
