One of the top choices in Mexico condos for sale is the gated communities in the Playa del Carmen real estate area. Even within this very specific market description, there is a good variety of choice. The following are a few favorite varieties.

Beachfront – While most gated communities are just a little back from the beach, within walking distance, some buyers give preference to Playa del Carmen condos for sale right on the beachfront, with the white sand and turquoise water directly at their front door. There are a handful of upscale developments and small gated communities which combine exclusivity and luxury with one of the best imaginable locations for a beachfront lifestyle. Golf Course Communities – Perhaps the next most desired location (and perhaps even more so, depending on who you talk to) are the condos built along any of Playa del Carmen’s excellent golf courses. Playa del Carmen has been named Latin America’s golf capital; besides purely the number of course – there are 9 in the direct area, with 3 or 4 more nearby – many of these are professionally designed. One is host to Latin America’s first PGA event. In addition to offering residents the benefit of direct access to an excellent game, these communities offer condo buyers exclusivity, a comfortable community, beautiful views, and plenty of green space.

Marina – For some buyers a marina view is as good if not better than a direct beachfront view. This is especially true for boat owners, for whom this marina view also means that their yacht is moored virtually at their doorstep. Playa del Carmen’s main marina community – Puerto Aventuras – is much more than the 3 beautiful marinas and the accompanying condos; with shopping areas, restaurants, a school and a church, it’s much more like a town in itself.

Condo Resorts – Most people have heard of “condo hotels;” condo resorts are similar, but buyers will own their property directly within a five-star resort setting. These provide not only high security and exclusivity, but also a resort lifestyle for owners along with the opportunity to generate an income when they are not using their property.

This is only a brief overview to give buyers an idea to start out. Buyers should describe their “dream condo” to their agent and ask to see a variety of gated communities throughout the Playa del Carmen area.
