Be careful before you invest money in any work-at-home offer. It is often difficult to determine the genuineness of the company or the employer and statements about issues such as estimated income and potential work-at-home employers. Additionally, be careful of testimonials of many people saying that they've made lots of money through work-at-home plans-these testimonials are often part of the scam.
The employer or the company offering work-at-home program should give you in writing all the necessary details like here are some information to be provided by them:
1. The nature of the task they are assigning you?
2. The amount of income you will receive on the performance of the particular task.
3. Who is the concerned person or your immediate boss?
4 What will be the duration of income?
5. What will be the total cost of the work-at-home program, including supplies, equipment and membership fees? What will I get for my money?
All the above information may help you determine whether a work-at-home program is appropriate for your circumstances, ...
... and whether it is genuine.
Most work-at-home jobs don't promise regular salaried employment. Many ignore to state that you have to work for long hours without pay. Some of them may require that you spend your own money for products or instructions before finding out how the offer works.

Complaint
If you have invested your money, time and efforts on a work-at-home job but program may not be genuine, contact the company and ask for a refund. If you can't resolve the dispute with the company, file a complaint against the same at the following: Attorney General's Office, the Better Business Bureau, the State of Conn. Dept. of Consumer Protection, or their local town Postmaster.
Online complaints can also be registered at the websites of the Better Business Bureau of Connecticut the Dept. of Consumer Protection, the Federal Trade Commission, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
