Fundraising Ideas For Charity
Charity starts at home, and this is never true than when you are looking to do some fundraising. You can help out a charity by encouraging you family and friends to donate, by running a fun event that everyone can get involved in.
The first step you need to take with your charity fundraising events is to know exactly which charity you want to support and plenty of information about it. Many charities even have information for people who want to fundraise for them, about great events and how to donate the money once it has been raised. Once you have chosen your charity, you can get on with planning your exciting event.
Fundraising ideas for charity is often seen in the form of bake sales. These are fun for everyone involved, as baking is fun, and eating the end product is just as good. You can raise plenty of money fast, as nobody can resist a home made treat. You can do this in your school or neighbourhood ...
... to raise money, while at the same time raising awareness about your cause.
For a slightly larger event, you could arrange a raffle, or some kind of gathering, such as a local sports day or five-a-side football tournament. Asking people to enter these sporting events for a small entry fee, and for donations at the actual event can be a great way to have people enjoy themselves while raising money at the same time for a good cause.
You can raise money for charity in more large scale ways by doing larger events. There are many sponsored walks and runs, not to mention marathons, which you can get involved in to raise money. Marathons and half marathons are a great way to raise money, as you get fit while people sponsor you to do so. For something even more physically extreme than a marathon, some people even do a skydive for charity - literally risking their life for their cause!
If you want to do something larger for your charity to attract more attention, you can run an event which may attract the local media. These events need to be innovative. For example, the Walk the Walk campaign gains plenty of press as many women walk through major cities in their bras in order to raise money for breast cancer. You could do something similarly controversial, yet at the same time dignified, to bring attention and subsequently donations to your charity of choice.
