One of the latest trends in the automobile market at present is the production of vehicles with uncompromised power and larger engines yet fuel efficient. This trend was probably caused by the continuous increase on the prices of gasoline and most car finders’ desire to own powerful vehicles minus the higher fuel expenses. As a result, more and more car makers are currently producing vehicles with these characteristics as one of their strategies to attract new customers aside from providing better and competitive auto financing rates. Given this, General Motors has also joined other vehicle manufacturers in providing buyers with the type of vehicle that they want to own.

As part of this strategy, General Motors has recently announced that the company’s engineers and other personnel involved in its production have upgraded the Buick LaCrosse. Given this, the 2012 Buick LaCrosse will powered by a V-6 engine upon its release on the market by summer of this year. With this engine, the LaCrosse gets an additional boost in power ...
... estimated to be around 23 horsepower. This brings the 2012 Buick LaCrosse’s maximum power output to 303 horsepower and GM expects that this would entice more buyers to purchase the latest version of this vehicle model.

The good thing with this upgrade is that the LaCrosse will still retain its original fuel economy. Experts state that this version’s fuel consumption will still be around 17 miles per gallon in the city and 27 miles per gallon in the highway. Given these features, the LaCrosse could be a good option for most new car finder s who want a vehicle within the 300 horsepower range without having to worry about excessive fuel expenses.

The powerful and fuel-efficient features of the 2012 Buick LaCrosse were probably the result of GM’s use of more lightweight components and materials in assembling this vehicle. The V6 engine used in this for example is made of lighter alluminum alloy. Aside from this, the power boost was also brought about by the upgrades on the engine’s cylinder-head design. The larger valves and its longer opening also allow more air to enter into the combustion chamber thereby generating more power.
