Teeth Bonding
A Teeth bonding is a dental procedure for repairing the decayed or chipped teeth.
Bonding refers to applying a composite resin usually a plastic of tooth colored in order to repair a chipped, decayed, discolored or fractured tooth. This tooth bonding is similar to veneers that are manufactured at the laboratory and that requires a customized mold in order to acheive a proper fit. But the teeth bonding have got an advantage that it can repair decayed teeth at a single visit itself. This proceure is referred to as bonding since the materials used will get bonded with the teeth. Teeth bonding are the least expensive and easiest of all cosmetic dental procedure. A composite resin used for making the bonding material will surround the decayed teeth perfectly. A tooth bonding is a common dental procedure which repairs the appearance of your chipped or discolored teeth. The teeth bonding technique may also be used to decrease the space between the teeth which makes your teeth look longer. Teeth bonding is done as follows: First of all the dentist will use the shape guide in order to select a composite resin of a particular color which best matches with your original teeth color. After selecting a composite resin of particular color, he will slightly etch or abrade the surface of your teeth in order to roughen it. Then the coated with the conditioning liquid lightly which helps in adhering with the bonding material. Thus after preparing your teeth, a putty-like, tooth colored will be appplied on the teeth by your dentist. The dentist will then molds and smoothens the resin until it attains the proper shape.
The material is then hardened with laser or by an ultravoilet light. When the bonding gets hardened, the dentist will further shape and trim it. Then the resin material is been polished until it gets matches with the teeth color. The teeth bonding procedure usually takes thirty minutes or an hour to get completed. Certain food habits like coffee, tea, smoke, cigarrettes and other substances will ultimately stain the resin. In order to avoid getting stains over the resin it is advisable not to take the food items lik tea, coffee or drinking foods for about 48 hours after completion of the teeth bonding procedure. In addition to that cleaning your teeth that have undergone a bonding procedure regularly with the help of dental hygienist will also help you to prevent your teeth getting decayed and stained. The composite resin which can be used in bonding is as strong as your original teeth. Hence the teeth bonding can last for several years before getting repaired.
