Repeating Doing The Simple Things Could Help You Achieve Success

There was a famous marketing master who would retire from his career. To be invited by the industry associations and the social immunities, he decided to give the last speech. On that day, the meeting room was filled with people who were eagerly waiting for the speech of the great salesman.
When the curtain was opened slowly, people could see a huge iron ball hang on the center stage. There was a tall metal framework on stage to support the huge iron ball. An old man walked out and stood by the side of metal framework. People were surprised to see him and wondered what he would do next. The old man said: “Here is a big sledge. Anyone here could beat the iron ball and make it swing?” Two strong men handed their hands and went to the stage. People applauded for them happily.
One man took the sledge to beat the hanging iron ball, and people could only hear the big bang. But the ball did not swing at all. He did it several times and became exhausted soon. The other man also tried his best to beat the ball without any result. The audiences were silent, waiting for the explanation of the old man.
The old man ...
... took out a small hammer out of his pocket and beat the huge ball seriously. He beat once and stopped for seconds; then beat once and stopped seconds. He continued this action without saying the time limit. Ten minutes had passed. Twenty minutes had passed. Audience began to chat with each other, some people even shouted out to express their dissatisfaction. The old people seemed not to hear the noise and continued the work he was doing. People started to leave the room and there was large vacancy there. The remained people seemed to be tired and they became quite to wait.
After about 40 minutes, one women sitting in the front screamed: “The ball is moving!” All people concentrated to see the ball. At first, the ball just swung in small range, and then it swung higher and higher with bang voice, which shocked the heart of every audience. At last, people burst out thundering applause for the old man.
He just turned out and said one sentence: “In the road to success, if you do not have enough patience to wait its coming, you have to face failure with your whole life.”
