Marketing a product is not easy especially if it is your first time to introduce the product to the market. Postcards have been one of the most effective ways of advertising your product considering that postcard printing is not that expensive as compared to other print materials that you may know.

Marketing strategy may differ depending on the kind of product that you are introducing to the market. Sometimes, advertising through television may be required for your type of product. Considering the cost of each advertisement shown, you may need to reconsider. Yes, it may achieve your purpose but it would require a big budget just to air a few seconds of ads.

a. Flyers - Flyers may come cheap for the company but guess what? For prospective clients too. It may be very convenient to print because you can make one at your own office without having some company print it for you, but it lacks class. Flyers are so common that most people do not even take a few seconds to take notice of it. Yes, you may insert it inside newspapers, under windshields but how many people are really taking time to take a look at it? Another thing for flyers is that the quality of paper used is not that good making it easier to throw, tear or even crumple. Does not sound good as a means of promoting a new product, even old ones too.

b. Newsletters - This age old marketing tool is effective still but not all people have the luxury of time to read a letter especially if it is from an unknown company. It may eat up a lot of your time. Newsletters can be boring too with its black and white print. Even if you make it colorful, chances are it still won’t be that attractive enough to catch the attention of a customer.

c. Postcards - It is a cross between a flyer and a newsletter. It catches attention with its intense color and unique design plus it draws attention especially if you have a very good and catchy headline. The thing about this card is to give a careful thought on how you would want to design it that it truly catches attention and retains it. Consider the images that you are putting on it and do not forget the type of paper to use for postcard printing. It will surely make a difference.

There you have it. Postcards is still is the best option so far. Another way to utilize this tool is to include something that may interest your target customer into trying the product or buying more of it. Include some coupons that will allow them to have discounts on certain products or even something for them to keep other than the postcard. Reaching out to your customers may mean going the extra mile. So the next time you think of printing postcards, think of other ways to get these postcards across your customers.
