Minimal White Dress

Now that we are safely past the Memorial Day deadline about wearing white, it is a perfect time to shop for the perfect white dress. Of course many people choose not to follow the wear white only between Memorial Day and Labor Day, but I must admit that I still do stick to that rule.
If you are looking for a great minimal white dress, look no further than the Freda Gathered Waist dress by Velvet by Graham and Spencer. The Freda dress features a gorgeous v neck complemented by a gathered waist and flared skirt. The gathered waist does really do a great job of separating the top of the dress from the flared skirt to give it a very classic style dress. It has an elegant vintage feel that looks like it just walked out of an Audrey Hepburn movie. It also reminds us a bit of the dress Kate Middleton wore in her engagement photos, although in a different color. The white dress is a stunning color and the color alone transforms practically any dress into a classy statement dress. The dress is also lined with an added layer of baby jersey cotton fabric which is so helpful with a white dress to ensure that ...
... it isn't too sheer.
If you are looking for a minimal white dress with some hints of color or contrasting pattern to it, consider the Chapel Dress by Velvet. This gorgeous dress is an example of a classy yet bold statement dress featuring a black and white or a red and white pattern. Part of Velvet's Spanish Tile collection, naturally this dress features a tile pattern and a gorgeous fitted style with a v neck and a subtle knot at the center of the v neck. This dress hits just at or below the knee and features short sleeves. Here white is the primary color accented by either a black or red tile pattern. This dress has a simple fitted style and is a good minimalist white dress with pops of contrast color and pattern.
There are so many options for ways to incorporate white dresses into your closet. If you still haven't fournd something that interests you, there is always the option of utilizing a solid white top or skirt to accent with contrasting colored or patterned pieces and accessories. Personally, I love wearing the Freda dress in White with bold accessories in black or red whether it be boots, big chunky necklaces, or the right belt to accent the waist. In that sense, the white dress has so many versatile options and gives you a number of options to wear it with great accessories and shoes.
A few final rules of thumb to think about with the white dress option, you want to make sure that it is not too sheer, that it gives you options for a variety of ways to accessorize it and of course that it fits you well to give you that confidence to wear it.
