Juice fasting diet is a detox method which involves you consuming raw vegetables and fruit juices only for a short period of time. However, it is considered to be an extreme form of detoxification and there are certainly more gentler detox methods available which are less restrictive on you as well as including a wide range of foods, such as the detox diet. Although this form of fasting is save for most people there are certain groups who should not attempt a juice fasting diet. This includes pregnant women, those people who suffer from diabetes, eating disorders, kidney and liver disease, plus people who are also underweight, suffer from anemia or impaired immune function, asthma, cancer, nutritional deficiencies as well as those who suffer some form of addiction etc.

When carrying out a juice fasting diet you are ensuring that your body has a rest from food and digestion so that the body's immune system can concentrate on eliminating toxins from it. Whilst you are on a juice fast diet(using lasting for 3 days or more) then the body begins to start to burn off and digest its own tissues by a process known as autolysis. ...
... Firstly it will decompose and burn those cells and tissues which are diseased, damaged, aged or dead. As time passes your stomach will then begin to shrink and become less acidic, you may also find that you will suffer some detox symptoms such as a breakout of acne, headaches and fatigue. These occur because your body is now removing the toxins from it and these symptoms should ease and you will soon feel renewed and both you health and well being will have improved.

When on a juice fasting diet you can have almost any fruit or vegetable that you want as long as you eat it raw. Vegetables which are good for consuming during such a fasting are tomatoes, cucumbers, celery and carrots. It is also recommended that you dilute the juice you are drinking with water. You should dilute 1 part water to 1 part juice and it is important that you only use filtered water.

So yes a juice fasting diet can be a safe way of cleansing the body of unnecessary toxins. However, if you feel unsure that you should be doing a Juice fasting diet then it is important you to talk to your doctor or health professional first.
