Over The Counter Acne Treatment

Acne is a very unpleasant skin condition that young and old alike are now learning to live with. However there are certain ways in which a person can take steps in order to help improve the situation. Normally a person will see their doctor who will then prescribe some form of treatment for dealing with the condition. However, today no longer does a person need to do this instead they can just go to their local drugstore and pick up an OTC acne treatment from their chemist instead.
But how does someone decide which is the best OTC (over the counter) acne treatment for them to use and whose advice should they listen to? In fact because there are so many advertisements around regarding these acne skin care products it makes it extremely difficult for anyone suffering from acne to know which is the best one for them.
The first thing however anyone should do is decide whether they want to use a traditional form of medication or go for one of the more natural products or remedies that they can now purchase. Certainly the number of natural acne products now available are steadily growing and as more and more people ...
... want to lead much more healthy and natural life styles they are looking to use more holistic acne treatment methods instead. However it is best you carry out some research to ensure that you are fully aware of what it is supposed to do for your skin.
If you want to use traditional medical treatments that are much more straight forward, it will contain either salycic acid or benzoyl peroxide. However when actually deciding what is the best type of OTC acne treatment as each product is suited to different people in different ways. One thing you may find is that most of the products will treat the problem by drying the skin in order to prevent any excess oil building up on the skin.
So instead of buying an OTC acne treatment which looks the best in the shop you should instead ask the pharmacist as to which one they consider to be the best for you to use. Pharmacists will have a lot of experience of dealing with this particular problem and are more than likely able to know which of the products is best for you.
