Building A Perfect Man Cave For My Husband's Birthday

As any avid online shopper knows, the world is at your fingertips. With a quick search it's simple to find all kinds of discounts and coupons online. When I find a decent sale you can believe that I get a kind of shopping fever. It was really exciting when I found some Overstock promo codes that other day. Ok, well, maybe it was more of an internal jumping for joy kind of thing. Or perhaps it was something more along the lines of an additional excuse to shop. Regardless, I had my golden ticket to do some great bargain hunting and I started on my mission.

My shopping wasn't just for anything frivolous anyway. What I had in mind was much grander indeed. My husband's fiftieth birthday was less than three months in the future. I had had this great idea for a craft room for me a while ago. Just to make me happy, my husband had converted the basement into an arts and crafts and sewing room like I had asked and I had known he wasn't very happy with it to be honest.

... exclusively used the crafts room as extra storage. It turns out that I much prefer sitting out on the patio to do my crafts work and I wasn't giving up on them entirely. I worked out on the patio and went into the basement to get the supplies I would require. After getting whatever I need, I would head back to the patio.

The fun thing I'm going to do is give him a present of a 'man cave'. For him, it would be the perfect birthday gift. And honestly, the older he gets the grumpier he's been getting. I think he needs some space all to himself. The entire household is pretty much my domain, so it's only fair.

I've already started ripping out most of my supplies. My close girlfriends have been helping with the process and it's been amazing how little of it I actually kept. As luck would have it, my husband rarely if ever actually ventures into the basement. He avoids that room like the plague. He won't even notice the remodeling.

I wanted to order a complete bar set with cushioned bar chairs, dart board and the whole nine yards. He also needs a big screen television and a comfy sofa for watching his favorite shows. I think adding something weird and quirky should be in the room too, like a disco ball, as well as regular pictures and artwork to really complete the space. I think the disco ball idea is fun and can just see the mirrors and all that. Then, I figured he would be able to add something of himself as well. I'm just excited that there is a place I can go to order almost everything I need. That makes it nice and simple. My next job is to get my girlfriends over to help me do all the heavy lifting.
