Introduction
The main purpose of school is impact knowledge too the students through learning process. This is attained through a series of in cooperated work right from the school management boards and committees to the level of teachers- students’ management. Although the outcome and positives progression of the school task is as combined efforts of all the above parties, much of the tasks are conducted between teachers and the students. While in the general sense of any institution there is hierarchal ranking of leadership, the teacher maintains the classroom leadership while the students are his/her subordinates. It is this position which is the teachers occupies makes him/ her golden tool in the school institutions. He is in the niche which links a series of school blocks like the administration block, the communities from where the students hauls from and the students body.

Contrary to many reasoning of students and low profile people, acquisition of knowledge is not the only sole purpose of going to school. But the real outcome of completion of schooling is the utilization of the knowledge acquired in due respectful and accountable manners in regard to disciplinary matters. The white bulls say “practices makes perfect.” So the above virtues to be reflected in the students’ life after school, the students must have begun practising it while they were still schooling. This increases the number of tasks assigned to the teachers. The teachers work becomes difficult without proper management of the students which he teaches. In the struggle to have the conducive teaching and learning environment, teachers are obliged to development sound management skills by having properly drawn classroom management plan. The most fundamental factor is to become an effective teacher at the end of the process. The classroom management plan which yields to reliable and result oriented teacher in his/her teaching entails the management of the learning environment and the learners themselves . These two areas of operation for effective teaching requires an array of sophisticated skills based on the understanding of the students and the learning process as whole. Thus, with this complex and important teaching profession, studies of classroom management is a subject which must be emphasized from the early beginning in teachers’ education programs. Besides these, such practical experiences are vital in the development in the development of critical analysing skills of the assumptions that underpin them. . (Thomas, 1987)
The process of management aims at achieving a certain goal over a specified period. This why the school management come up syllabuses which are assigned periods most commonly known as terms in the lower levels of learning institutions while in the tertiary level they call them semesters. The management of classroom leading to production of effective teachers cannot be attained when time schedules are not maintained and adhered to. The classroom management skill would therefore enable the teacher to beat time deadline making sure that every item is well covered at the end of the term or year’s syllabus. It is very important for the tutors and other people in the teaching department to find enough time for every subject they introduce to the students. Difficulties will always be realised in case limited time provided without consoidesrinng direct and indirect factor which enhance the learning efficiencies are not put into consideration. Expectations
Normally, teachers and students have quite differences requirements or needs in the classroom environment. The expectations of the teacher-pupils relation are very important as they form the rights of each individual in the classroom. They act as pervasive measure to misconducts leading to disciplinary issues. In view of this, the expectations of are priority issues which needs to be discussed frankly the first day of class meeting. Usually, students’ needs /expectations are limited to the need of survival, belonging, fun, power and freedom from fear. Above all, the students would have the right to study in an environment without disruption from the others. Certain enough, respect is said to be two ways traffic; and this is unequivocal in the classroom of students -teacher’s leadership. So, the pupils expect the tutor to facilitate the learning through setting of limits on disruptive behaviour of the students. In addition, it is the expectation of the students that the teacher invents interesting curricular which satisfies their above needs. Such a curricular should be stimulating and endowed with useful lessons. Without uncouth criticism, the teachers are in obligatory terms to encourage the students to imitate the best kind of behaviour in all aspects of life. In general, the tutor is under the obligation of using teaching methodologies which most likely motivates the students making them t o get engaged in worthy learning activities. (William, 1998)
On the other hand, the teacher expects total attention from each student. On his capacity, his rights allows him to establish the optimal learning environment, hence there is expectation of certain behaviour which contributes to optimal student growth. He then expects the students to come to the class while prepared and w1ith the appropriate class materials. This would show to him the willingness the student to learn. Apart from his expectation of the students to be well prepared, he expects them to consent on consequences of misconduct/ misbehaviour. (Jacob, 1977)
Time management
Teaching time is very important. Like any where else, there is never enough teaching time in schools. Thus, a tutor’s effort to manage his own time and that of the students becomes a big challenge. In school, the effective use of time is initiated by effective classroom management and organization or the vice versa results. Time management in school institutions comprises all aspects of teaching including organizing of the day and the classroom, deciding time lengthy of teaching the various subjects, and recording student progress as well as keeping time consuming g behaviour issues at minimal. A Part from the normal teaching time, it is established that at least 27 % of school time is spend on non-instructional activities including lunch, break s, recess, down-time between lessons and activities moving from one class to another together with interruptions and other non-instructional time which leads to inefficiencies. In order to increase teaching time under the consideration that classroom management is well challenged by passive student, dependent students, confrontational students, unprepared students, dominating students as well as late arrival and early leavers, the following strategies may work to increase the teaching time:-
Determining which aspects of the school can be controlled: - this may involves rescheduling of class period, pulling out program, extra –curricular activities time planning and outside interruptions.
Having solid blocks of teaching for each day
Planning a smooth transition period between lessons and always trying to have materials ready for each lesson or activity.
Giving home work to students to extended learning periods which allows student s to exercise practice on skills they have al already learnt.
Observing restroom schedule breaks to form maximum efficiency.
Improving student attendance:-impress upon the student s the vital importance of good attendance and actually show them on how it hurts to be absent or late in class. (Thomas, 1987)
Organizing Procedures and Resources
A good classroom manager would capitalize organization procedure for smooth learning of the organization. Furthermore, workloads can be lessened through proper utilization of resource available. The resources may be in form of human resources in a school environment. Resources of such kinds like aides, volunteers and students can be appropriately used handled in various classroom tasks leading to the saving of enormous amounts of time. Persons’ with special strengths and abilities are of great benefit when they are assigned full or part- time duties. They can get involved in duties like making of instructional games, keeping of bulletin boards’ current, monitoring of seatwork and learning centres reading of stories to the class, clerical and house keeping duties, class parties, and special programs as well as assisting in the arrangement of field trips. Like aides, volunteers are also valuable assets which can take any task taken by aides under supervisions and guidance. They not give much deserving help to the teacher, but they also improve the relationship of the school; and homes. While the teachers and the surrounding come to a deeper understanding of the challenges facing each party, they develop a closer collaboration in which there might leads to one side benefitting in future from such or a mutual benefit may also be retrieved. For instances, volunteers may becomes sympathetic to the challenges facing a school institution and then be of better support in budgets and opportunities improvement.
Arranging the Environment
Using classroom arrangement is part of the lesson plan hence forming part of the classroom management plan. As a good teach, teaching is given precedence over talks. It is for this reason that a class room teaching charts of typical standards are of great use. Frontal seating pattern forms the best form of arrangement in understanding to know the pupils needs and exercising the classroom control. During particular lessons, group and pairs work may lead to rearrangement of the standard arrangement. The rearrangement should not take too long process such that a lot of time is wasted as pupils move to groups and pairs with each other according to familiarity factors. In such time, new class room seating arrangements involves students having to talks to themselves. This requires just turning of desks to face another pair group(s) as well as walking around to the get a partner with same interests. Knowing classroom procedures is important in classroom arrangement, which help in effective classroom management. In the execution of such, the pupils need to understand the tutor’s classroom procedure for group and pair work, the seating arrangements procedure for getting up or sitting down during the task and the procedure of ending the group or pair work and coming back to original standard arrangement. (Jacob, 1977)
Monitoring Student Progress
As it has been pointed out, a class of pupils is composed of more than five categories of students. All these various student categories need to be monitors for improvements in their work. This is done through certain tests which are determined by the tutors depending the kind monitoring is being observed. However, in all sort of control methods, there is one thing in common, i.e., recording and keeping tracks in any written form is the best way. Recording should include some of the major things carries within the classroom and within the school. Single records on academic performance, behaviour, time management and any other relevant record must be careful selected to form a journal at the end of the day. Journals in which various kinds of information are recorded form an oasis for the retrieval of information for the monitoring purposes which makes pupil to be held accountable regardless of their characters type or classroom. In combination with other documents, target setting can be used in improving standards and also accelerating progress for each pupil. Targets can be set in all aspects and be used in the policy assessment. (Thomas, 1987)
Anticipating and Handling Problems
Disruptions can emanate from misbehaving leading to time spending on the misconduct of the pupils. Anticipation of problems musts involves all forms of communication like non-verbal communication of body language, facial expression, gestures and eye contact. The recognition of misbehaviour by a teacher through non-verbal communication methods is very useful for he /she can prevent its escalation in a similar manner. Reminders and classroom request are also major ways of regulating classroom by reminding them on rules and their consequence. Redirection of behaviour to the intended destination is another easy technique of dealing with problems of behaviour. (Jacob, 1977)
Designing a Learning Centre
While designing the centre for effective classroom management, the design should therefore be able to meet the needs of the pupils. It is supposed to be spacious to allow proper arrangements of the pupils in the classroom. Another feature which I will highly consider is the accommodation of the current and incoming students. It should be bold so as to appear beyond unique and outstanding beyond the already tried and implemented technologies. This would bring in the picture of creativity in way of energising and inspiring both the tutors and the pupils. FOR conducive learning environment, the design must be supportive to develop the potentials talents of all the learners. This would involve finding adequate space capable of supporting all different kinds of activities in the area. To further support the pupils, the physical environment is suppose to be clean and pleasantly decorated to avoid distracting stimuli. (William, 1998)
