We moved to a different town in the beautiful state of Illinois. Well, not exactly a town, Chicago is a little bit more than a town. Before we moved my husband thought he would be cute and surprise me with something one morning. In his hand he was holding some paper and he had a huge smile on his face. He had Best Buy coupons and started telling me about his perfect solution to make our move easier.

I really couldn't possibly think of anything that was really going to make living in Chicago any easier. Considering it was a gazillion times bigger than the small town we lived in, I had little faith that anything could possibly make the move simpler. My husband explained that the discounts were for GPS machines that we would get and have installed. I'm getting no where near as technologically advanced as my husband is.

It's lucky that I even know how to use email. I had to finally give in and ask what a GPS unit was. You can imagine, I was pretty excited when my husband told me how it helps you get where you're going by showing where you are and the way to where you want to be. But, I had one problem ...
... left. The possibility of a learning curve on this little tool didn't really make me feel all that excited.

I had terrifying visions of being stuck somewhere with a million people around. I could just see myself, in a parking space, attempting to tap the right thing to make the GPS show me where I was and how to get somewhere else. It actually sounded like it may be more trouble than it was worth.

He promised me over and over that I'd have no trouble using it. He reassured me that if I could make a phone call on my cell phone than I would be able to operate this. Amazingly, he was absolutely right. It was great to know what lane I needed to be in long before I got there when I was driving around in the new city.

Hearing the directions out loud is one of the greatest parts of the GPS. Overall, the voice directions are the best part of the entire thing. I'm never late or lost thanks to the little gift my husband gave me even though I still have no idea where anything is in Chicago.
