Often times, getting the professional angle is a tall order for hundreds photographers. Photographer Cambridge cannot help, but pity novices as they struggle to get the right angle. As a result, he has some professional advice.
According to photographer Cambridge, changing a cameras viewpoint offers you an opportunity to create powerful effects over the visual impacts of your photos. Picture this; the same scene can appear quite different depending on where you chose to photograph it. In this regard, there are 3 angles you can shoot from; at an eye level, from below or from above. For example, find an upper level viewpoint or climb a few stairs to shoot down on an object. Moreover, try to lie down or squat low to angle your camera upward.
The eye level angle is the most important shooting angle. According to photographer Cambridge, it conveys an everyday appearance of any object. In other words, it is the natural way we see the world. Photographer Cambridge is quick to note that most photographers tend to shoot from an eye level. Unfortunately, they forget to do so when shooting flowers, oceans and rivers because ...
... they look down at them. To create original and interesting images, there is need to alter this viewpoint.
Photographing a scene from above allows the organization of elements in the picture to be clearer. It is easier for you to reveal patterns from a higher viewing angle. Moreover, a bird’s eye view can emphasize an objects diminutive size. Photographer Cambridge says that a bird’s eye view is intriguing because not only does it heighten the two dimensions of a scene, but it also reveals hidden design qualities of a subject.
Another added advantage of shooting from a bird’s eye view is ease of locating high vantage points. Good possibilities include staircases, upper flow windows, bridges and rooftops. Photographer Cambridge has kind words to describe “from above” shots, “Pointing a camera down from a higher angle brings the horizon near the top of the photo. Consequently, the land appears to be stretching away endlessly”.
Photographing a landscape from low angle moves the horizon in the photo downwards. As a result, it shows an expanse of the sky and emphasizes the expanse of the landscape. Usually, low angles exaggerate tall subject’s height or reveal overlooked features of low lying objects. “If you want any building to appear like a skyscraper in a city, shoot while lying down” advises photographer Cambridge.
To get an original point of view and an interesting perspective, shoot a subject through a framing element. A rocky crevice, a doorway, a window or trees create a visual frame within the pictures actual frame. It is thus creative to position such images around an object. Photographer Cambridge says a framing element serves two purposes. First, it serves to obscure distracting details in a scene and secondly, it directs the viewer’s eye towards your subject. Master these angles and your images will always be unique. Creativity and unique images makes an award winning photographer Cambridge.
