Recent studies have shown that there may indeed be evidence that genes may play a role for some people who suffer from back pain.

However, what is important to remember though, is that even though genes may play a role by increasing the chances of someone getting back pain, there is always an underlying cause to the pain. Whether that underlying cause is a trauma to the spine, or whether the causes are muscle imbalances in the body.

If you or someone you know is dealing with back pain, take heart, preventing or treating the pain is possible in most cases. A multi approach treatment program which involves specific back pain stretches and exercises, inversion therapy, natural anti-inflammatory supplements and trigger point therapy will offer the most relief.

Some additional common ailments that may result from a genetic predisposition are scoliosis, osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis and spondylothesis. Most often times than not, relief can be found even for those suffering from the above conditions.

How do I protect myself if I am predisposed for genetic back pain?

Although ...
... studies have show that there may be a correlation between genes and some forms of back pain, conflicting research states that the environment plays an even bigger role in preventing back pain and how our cells change and develop.

Having said that, the two most common causes of back pain are from impact / trauma and muscle imbalances. Muscle imbalances occur in the body when strong, overworked muscles compete with weak, undeveloped muscles. This in turn creates an imbalance in the body and "postural dysfunctions" result. These dysfunctions pull your body out of proper alignment thus causing pain.

The good news is, these "postural dysfunctions" can be corrected by utilizing a combination of back pain treatments. Specific, targeted exercises performed everyday, alongside treatments such as inversion therapy, trigger point therapy, and natural anti-inflammatory supplements will offer the most benefits.

So if you are still wondering , "Is back pain genetic?", and family members suffer from back pain, take heart, there are treatments that are easy to perform and results will be seen.
