Video Message Service: Privacy And Other Features

Ironroad AB, a company dealing in product development has launched video message service (VMS). Video message service allows its users to create and share video SMS and do video blogging through their mobile phone. It is easy to use and inexpensive for its users. Due to the addition of video content, VMS has been designed keeping in view the safety and privacy of the user’s VMS content.
Here is how VMS ensures the privacy for its users:
Subscription to VMS Content
Every user needs prior permission from the other users in the form of a subscription in order to share VMS content. This enables users to share content with desired contacts rather than accepting or rejecting VMS content from unknown or unwanted contacts.
Storage of VMS Content
All the video message service content is stored centrally and not on the mobile phone. This saves access to the user’s VMS content from anyone having access to the mobile phone. A personal identification number of the service allows a user to access his/ her own VMS menu ...
... for viewing, creating and sending video SMS or accessing video blogs.
Video blogs facilitate celebrities, politicians, artists, and bloggers to reach out to their fans by creating and uploading videos through their mobile phone directly on their video blog using video message service. Subscribers can also reply by sending a video reply to a post by the celebrity. The celebrity can also send replies to select posts by the subscribers. These replies can be in person or even automated.
VMS vs. SMS and MMS
• Video message service comprises of video content along with text whereas an SMS only consists of text. This implies that VMS is more effective due to the inclusion of video content in it.
• VMS has a more personal touch as a text message has less proximity than a video SMS.
• It takes longer time to type a text message than to record the same message as a video SMS.
• A VMS has high quality video, which is optimized for full screen of a Smartphone which implies that it has superior picture quality than MMS
• An MMS does not support video content of more than 30 seconds while VMS supports up to 4 minutes of video content
• While all the text and MMS content is saved on the user’s mobile phone exposing it to access by other people that can access the user’s mobile phone. VMS content is not saved on the user’s phone and centrally stored for added privacy
