Each color reflects a different psychology that determines a unique psychological effect on its viewers. It can create varied emotions, or even evoke a desirable mood. Color, in web design is also an important feature that ascertains the first impression of a website. A colorless website on the other hand, is neither attractive nor provokes a favorable interest.

Let us discuss the significance of color in web designing -
Both warm as well as cool colors set the temperament of the website. It is important, but not completely necessary to know the difference between warm and cool colors. Red is basically a warm color while blue is the cool one.

Most colors used in web design are muted, earthy or pastel because it's easy to add other forms of content without disturbing the overall design. Every color comes with its own definition; for example-
Red is linked with strength, fire, blood and lust - it can be used sparingly as a light background color, used to highlight an area.
Blue is the most popular color used in websites as it symbolizes coolness and royalty. The darker end often represents strength ...
... whereas the paler end is used to represent desire and dream.

Green can be linked with feelings of strength and accord. It is also a color used to highlight certain calmness.

Black can be related to power and style. Depending on your product, it can be used to add style.

Yellow commands thoughts of joy and optimism. It's a color that can be awe-inspiring if used in conjunction with black.

Grey can be associated with respect. It is used deeply to form shiny ramps in designing for the World Wide Web to give a professional, modern feel to a web site.

Orange is related strongly to mysticism. It can add a vivacity to your website.

Brown, particularly the lighter end can have a calming effect. Beige is another most-used color in designing web sites as it gives an earthy & relaxed feel.

Grey can be linked to complexity, modern outlook. It is a great color to be used in a website's background to produce a sense of space & novelty.
As we know, web browsers can only use 256 colors while others have 216 colors. If you want the color chosen to emerge exactly as designed by you, then we suggest to go ahead with a 216 colors pallet. Try to use the web browser's safe color. Color combination is another important aspect you should keep in mind.

The text and the background should be in opposite tones. If you use dark colors like black for the background, use a lighter shade of white or gray ash for the text. You should aim to pick a color that will represent your brand's persona best. Some brands choose not to correlate themselves with one color. Instead of two or three colors, they choose four or more. This represents multiplicity.

By choosing an appropriate color for your website, not only the sites appeal increases, but it looks to be more professional and attractive.
