One of the best looking new mobile phones to recently hit the market is undoubtedly the Black LG Optimus, a phone that has managed to perfectly match its extremely high specification with equallly impressive design. Speaking of high performance handsets a new model has recently been released in the shape of the HTC Sensation. This model is the latest in a long line of impressive phones from the Taiwanese manufacturers and looks to compete with the very best phones currently available. These two phones will be on the wish list of many consumers looking at smartphones combining performance and looks, but what one comes out on top head to head?

The HTC has an early advantage over the LG thanks to the technology it employs in the processor department. Despite the Black Optimus offering users a 1Ghz chip that matches the kind that is on offer in the iPhone 4, the HTC Sensation goes a step further by not only increasing the speed to an impressive 1.2Ghz but also by making the chip dual core which enables it to handle multi tasking much more effectively. This is a major advantage in the modern market where consumers are ...
... using phones for much more than making calls and sending text messages. The Optimus still performs well though and would give many comparable handsets a run for their money in this area. When it come to RAM memory the Sensation also comes out on top thanks to its 768MB capacity compared with the 512MB offered on the Optimus. When it comes to storage capacity however the LG phone has the last laugh thanks to a built in storage of 2GB which is double what users can expect from the HTC. Micro SD card support is present on both models meaning users can fit up to an additional 32GB into their handsets.

One major attraction of the LG Optimus in Black are its looks which are undoubtedly gorgeous. LG have opted to style the phone in a more angular finish which is a step away from the curves found on the Sensation and numerous other models. This keeps the phone looking ultra modern whilst the handsets impressive dimensions also work in its favour. At 122 x 64 x 9.2mm the phone is physically smaller which adds to the appeal whilst the overall weight of 109 grammes is considerably less than the 148 grammes on offer with the Sensation. Part of the extra bulk found on the HTC can be attributed to the models larger screen which at 4.3 inches is larger than the 4 inch display used by LG. This additional size has no ill effect on the picture quality and the Sensation comfortably outperforms the Optimus thanks to its high quality 540 x 960 resolution combined with the excellent use of S-LCD technology rather than TFT.

Whilst the LG Optimus In Black will gain many admirers thanks to its eye catching design and compact dimensions, the HTC Sensation will be the choice of most users who do not regard looks as a major factor in their purchasing decision.

The LG Black Optimus and the HTC Sensation are available now.
