If you pass this basic threshold, however, then you are qualified to begin training to become a pilot. Training begins at flight school, and there are a number of accredited flight schools across the country that will turn you into a capable pilot. Choose your flight school with care, as there have been instances of uncertified flight schools tricking students into attending, and cheating those students out of their hard-earned money. A graduate from a flight school that has not been accredited will not be able to get a pilot’s license.

At the end of a course of theoretical and practical pilot training, Federal Aviation Authority tests will be administered and if you pass those tests, you will have become a true pilot. If you are contemplating becoming a pilot, you should be aware that the costs can be prohibitive for some people, and depending on your learning ability and the speed at which you master the flight training, earning your pilot’s license could cost you anywhere from $6,000 to $12,000.
