As soon as the topic of credit card debt elimination emerges, it becomes obvious that having a credit card in possession has been the choicest thong for the Americans from the time of recession. However, if it is about the issue of teenagers handling credit cards, it is certainly a little more sensitive. Some of these so called teenagers may just be in high school or pursuing their graduation and while some of them may be managing their own expenses, others who are more privileged may simply be splurging. It is not surprising therefore that a majority of these college students are getting buried with severe debts. According to reports ad surveys carried out by several organizations, almost about one third of the high school seniors are supposedly carrying their own credit cards or ones that is co signed by a parent. With the advent of the credit card debt laws, there has been a rapid change in the scenario however. Since the teenagers below the age of 18 years can no longer apply for a credit card, it is indeed difficult to follow the statistics to know how many of them are simply carrying the cards and using it responsibly ...
... and how many of them are in dire straits with huge credit card debts.
As we all know that America has witnessed the largest amount of debts from the time of the financial crisis, much of it is due to the irresponsible way in which the credit cards have been used and others have simply succumbed to the circumstances. While it may not be easy to get out of the credit card debts, it is often a slippery slope and no matter how much the consumers try they keep falling into the cycle of debts all over again. For a large number of teenagers, spending on the credit cards are simply fun and they do so without even realizing the deepest of consequences of these acts. On close introspection, it can be located that the teenagers should get sufficient training on the ways in which they should be using their cards and that it is the stepping stone towards building a credit history. In fact, so important is it that it can even determine the kind of job that they will be securing in future. Therefore, instead of just using it as fun money, the young people should get more lessons on lowering credit card debts. The teenagers are particularly oblivious about the hidden charges and other fees associated with the credit cards which are to be specifically told to them by their parents. In other words, they should learn about the ways in the hardest of ways and to avoid being duped by the same, the credit card usage should be done in a more restricted way. The growing number of teenagers using credit cards should be warned about the perils of its usage in order to get rid of credit card debts.
