The burgeoning "sunflower family" is first emerged in the city, and reflects the sunshine nature. They treasure little happiness hidden in life, with "happiness consists in contentment" as the motto and an optimistic attitude. 6. Being anti-stress and positive. They are insensitive to negative emotions which exist in life and work. They are good at abreacting.
7. Being thankful. They take everything they have as gifts from god. A thankful heart makes them know how to treasure and grasp.
8. Living rhythmically. They work as hard as they can, and meantime enjoy the spare time as abundantly as they wish. They enjoy life is in hand.
9. Having a rich content. "Sunflowers" have a typical characteristic that sometimes they seem heartless but rich in content and depth actually.
10. Moderate praises, self-mockery, spiritual victory, etc.

A forty-year-old Mrs. Zhang, who has been doing quality control for more than twenty years, said she also is part of sunflower family and "positive attitude towards life regardless of age". She every day starts to work on time at 8:00, goes back to take care of her seventy-year-old mother at noon, and goes to the market to prepare supper at six p.m. after work. She feels "spinning around" but "much full for every single day".
