Do you have a newsletter printing draft that you want to submit to an online printing company? Well, you should be careful when you do printing newsletters online. While it is very convenient and fast, there are some points that can get technical if you are not careful. This is most especially the case when you are a beginner in newsletter printing in general.

So let me help you get your newsletter drafts ready properly for online printing. Below are the steps necessary to properly prepare your color newsletters for online printing.

1. Thorough proofreading –Before you pay the order for printing your newsletters online, you should always do a thorough proofreading. Don’t just check the content spelling, grammar and formatting once. Do it three times to make sure that nothing is wrong or no errors are in the content. It is best to have one or two extra people check your newsletter draft as well so that you cover all different perspectives and tastes/preferences. The more thoroughly you check, the better your online newsletter printing will be.

2. ...
... Deep image reviews – You should also do deep image reviews. Your images should not just be a cut and paste affair in online newsletter printing. It should be placed specifically with the right specifications. Not only should it be enhanced a bit with lighter and brighter colors, but also it should be inserted in a high resolution format so that it does not get fuzzy when printed. Make sure to check each image and graphic to these specifications as there is no turning back once the order is submitted.

3. Page balancing – Since you have been checking the text and images, you should also check the page balancing before you print your newsletters online. Balancing a newsletter page is similar to balancing a full newspaper page. You don’t want to have big blocks of text in one page and then a gallery of images on another (unless it is really needed). It is good to balancing things out to make the newsletter aesthetically pleasing. So review all you newsletter pages and see if every design element is balanced out and decent looking.

4. Margins and bleeds – You should always try to check your printing margins and bleeds in newsletter printing. A professional newsletter should have impeccable margin and bleed alignments. Without these, your newsletters will look a little bit awkward and some areas might look unnaturally cut off because the background was cut.

So make sure that the proper boundaries of text and image content have been defined, while your backgrounds have a little bit of an extension or bleed as a precaution for inconsistencies in printing or cutting.

5. Color settings – It is also important to remember to check your color settings before printing flyers. Some software applications set their flyer documents in RGB color mode. A lot of online printers on the other hand use the four color CMYK mode instead. Make sure that you always try to match what the newsletter printers are using as their standard printing colors. It is better to match their preferences early on to minimize conversion mistakes in the future.

6. Exporting to the right format – Finally, you should then export your drafts in the right file format. While many printing companies should be able to accommodate any time of file format for your newsletter designs, the best format is always the one that the online printer prefers. So make sure you check out the printing requirements for newsletters and see what kind of document file they most prefer. Always go for that correct file format to minimize conversions and other types of extra adjustments.

That should put you in the right track to printing newsletters online properly. With the right draft preparation nothing should go wrong with your online newsletter prints.
