Notes From The Veterinary Webinar Practice Websites Veterinary Cpd From The Webinar Vet
Some thoughts on veterinary websites
Often as part of my research into the internet and veterinary practice I view veterinary websites. Some are good and some are quite poor.
One of my indications of a website’s effectiveness is its google page rank and its alexarating( go to www.alexa.com). Many practice websites have no page rank which means that there are probably not many visitors to the site. It is very important to encourage your clients to view your website as the more visitors you get to the website, the more relevant google will rate your page and the more likely you will appear on page 1 for your chosen keywords.
What should your keywords be?
- The name of your practice
- Vets in Liverpool or whatever geographical area you live in
My keywords for the webinar vet are: veterinary CPD, veterinary webinars, online veterinary CPD etc.
Keywords are the terms that people search on when trying to find your business. Try to get into your client’s head and think how they may search for you on line
How can you encourage people to visit your site?
- Have an opt ...
... in form on your website. If someone visits your site who is not a client and they fill in an opt in form then you can send them marketing messages which may make them bring their animal to the surgery. If there is no opt in form they will leave your site and may never come back again. As you now have email addresses, you can send them your monthly or quarterly newsletter
- Google adwords is well worth considering as a tool to advertise your practice. This is a very cheap way of advertising and will often get you to the top of page 1 on google as a sponsored listing. Adverts are usually charged per click and can be paid for on credit card.
Make sure your website is flexible and can be altered by members of staff and not just by the webmaster. This allows for rapid changes to the website. The more that you alter your website again the more relevant that google will rate your site.
I have certainly acquired new clients through my website. More and more people view your website before they even contemplate walking through the door. If it looks poor they will think your practice is too. Make sure you introduce your staff and show your facilities but in your pictures and words get your message about your practice across.
You know what that is.
It might be you’re cheap
It might be you’re caring
It might be you have highly qualified vets but websites are basically free billboards!
Make use of them!
