Isn’t it great to spend time with the family, talking about the little things, discussing your day, playing board games…wait a minute, board games, did you say? Well, before television, computers and video games started to dominate our lives, board games were the ideal entertainment for the family. There was camaraderie between family members as they teamed up to plot and plan how to outsmart their opponents and win the game. In fact, psychologists now claim think that structured board games are developmentally appropriate for children, as it helps them to learn to think strategically.

But rather than playing games where you “own” houses and banks and become instant pretend millionaires, wouldn’t it be great to play something real, something with which the whole family can identify. A lyric game like Spontuneous does just that. It gives a whole new dimension to the age-old concept of hearing certain words that prompt you to sing. In this game, players write out a set of “trigger words.” The first player starts the timer and announces a word from his list. The rest of the players have to sing a song that ...
... contains the word mentioned by the first player. The first player who sings at least 5 words from any song containing the trigger word scores, and is allowed to roll the dice to advance their piece towards meeting the challenges on the board. The first player to meet all the challenges on the board is the winner.

Games like Spontuneous are great entertainment for the family, as people spend time together in the company of good music and fun moments. The best part in this family board game is that it can be played almost everywhere-be it on a picnic, or in the car while travelling.

There’s bound to be happiness around when there’s music everywhere. There isn’t a better way to bridge the age gap between generations than play a game of Spontuneous, where the elderly come to know and appreciate the latest songs and the younger generation gets to know about songs from the older generation.

Board games have always been associated with bonding. Rather than force children into bonding time, you could involve everyone in the family naturally and in a fun way with a lyric game like Spontuneous.
