Performance Logs And Alerts Troubleshooting Scenarios

You might not have permission to view the counters on the 70-290 Exam remote machine.
You might not have the correct privileges granted through Group Policy.
The Performance Logs And Alerts service might not have permission to log on to the remote computer or to create and update the log file.
The Remote Registry service is not ainning on the remote machine.
The log file size limit might not be large enough to collect your requested data. The log update interval might be too short to allow the server to respond to each periodic data request.
Ask the administrator of the remote machine to grant you read access to the remote computer.
Ask the administrator of the remote machine to grant you access through the following user rights policies: Profile System Performance and Profile a Single Process.
Use the Run As text box and Password button to specify the logon account name with the necessary permissions for the Performance Logs And Alerts service. You can access these features from the General tab.

... Registry service.
Increase the limit of the log file size or set the MCITP certification file size to the maximum limit allowed.
Increase the log's update interval.
Set the following log file options:
QLog File Type: Text Fileā€”CSV
a Location: C.\PerfLogs (where C is the name of your system drive)
aFile Name: LDAP_Searches_per_sec
QLog File Size: Maximum Limit
aEnd File Names With: nnnnnn
QStart Numbering At: 1
4.Set the following scheduling options:
Q Start Log At: a time 3 minutes from now Q Stop Log After: 2 minutes
5.When the log starts in three minutes, open the Active Directory Users And Computers console, open and close various OUs and objects, move various objects to other OUs and back again, and then close the Active Directory Users And Computers console.
When the log has stopped, use the procedure provided earlier in this lesson to view the counter log file C:\PerfLogs\LDAP_Searches_per_sec_000001.csv (where
Cis the name of your system drive).
