A tool of marketing professed, practiced and propagated by brand owners and advertisers, advertising and its importance are needless to discuss. Brand Advertisers have plethora of choice to promote their products through various advertising channels. In the following paragraphs, three advertising channels of brands are briefly discussed. Television Advertising- When we talk of advertising, television ads primarily are considered as a common source or medium of advertising. Television Advertising is almost synonymous to brand advertising in India. The advent of television commercials in India changed the overall facet of brand marketing. Because of its audio-visual advantages, Indian customers usually prefer television ads. Modern India has seen a big leap in this advertising media. Enhanced by a sound technological support, modern brand advertising through television media is much more advanced in nature and attributes.

Radio Advertisements are usually time bound. The brand message has to be quickly delivered within seconds. However, it is a well known fact that radio ads are pretty popular amongst customers. Also considered as the most cost effective mode of brand promotion, radio advertising reaches out to maximum number of customers.
Print Advertising- The history of print ads can be traced back to those days when advertising was merely a concept amongst humans. Print Advertising practices show its impact no sooner than the launch of advertising and later emerge as one of the effective means to communicate with target customers. Brochures, pamphlets, leaflets, flyers or any brand message that is available in print version is grouped under print advertising practices. The effectiveness of print media is still visible in today’s hi-tech world. Classifieds and advertorials set the tone of modern print ads.
Customers play an important role in the entire brand communication process. Every brand message targets customers and frames the communication in such a way that they are influenced and motivated to buy the product or brand. So, it is important to have a good psychological knowledge about customers in order to launch a promotion campaign of a brand.
Advertising as a promotion tool has been around as an informal concept ever since the beginning of human civilization. Oral advertising was used as one of the formal methods of marketing. Merchants used to sell goods to people directly on the streets by orally advertising their goods. Advertising took a formal shape with the advent of paper and writing. Advertising no sooner became a business in itself and started contributing a major share to the overall revenue of the brand business.
One of the oldest modes of brand advertising is outdoor media. Outdoor advertising practices soon evolve from conventional practices to contemporary ones. Airport Advertising and Mall Advertising became two latest avenues of outdoor advertising. With more spending capacity of customers, brand advertising through outdoor media has so far become an in-demand as well as effective medium to communicate with prospects and buyer groups. All in all, the induction of digital technology has enhanced the overall look and feel of OOH advertising practices. Customers avail of the brand message through rich and interactive media such as digital billboards, electronic kiosks, LCD/ LED displays etc.
Advertising was, is and will always be a form of glorifying or gaining good publicity for various goods that target maximum sales and revenue. As long as brands exist in the market, advertising will always be an important marketing tool to enhance sales for various brands. And it is assured that brands will be continuously launched almost every day. Advertising ensures brand owners that their products are remembered by target customers time and time again.
