The first thing you will need to check are the credentials of the flight training school. Is the school accredited and does it follow a syllabus that is recognized by the FAA ? Some schools also offer financial aid so this is something that is worth looking into too.

Type of aircraft is another significant factor. With so many different types of aircrafts and aircraft manufacturers it is not possible to be proficient in flying all types. Spend some time figuring out the type of aircraft you wish to fly and see if your shortlisted schools offer these choices. If they don’t, it’s time to cross it off the list.

Even after you’ve narrowed down your list considerably, and with all the remaining pilot training schools on your list being equal, how do you pick just one? The best way to do this is by reading a few student reviews. Read what past students have to say about these schools and while you are at it, try and see what those students are doing now. Have they managed to get good flying jobs are they still struggling to get a decent flying job?
