Motorola Milestone 3 Is The Latest Qwerty Droid Of Choice
The original Milestone was the smartphone that allowed Motorola to get a firm footing in the touchscreen phone industry. Up until then Motorola had been a bit slow to move with the times but the Milestone, known in the United States as the Droid, instantly won a lot of appeal due to its perfect blend of Android and QWERTY keyboard. Despite investing a lot of energy in new devices like the Atrix, Motorola have also updated this iconic Android phone with a new edition to be released as the Milestone 3.
Motorola have still not confirmed all of the details of the next Milestone but a few things are already known about it. It will come with the latest Android on board, with this currently being Android Gingerbread. With a release set for some time in September there is a chance it may be unleashed to the public with Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and at any rate this will be on offer through an update in the future.
The Milestone 3 will of course retain its iconic QWERTY keyboard although this will have a slight revamp for improved typing experience. It will now come with a new 5 row design making it more intuitive to use. ...
... There are plenty of messaging options to make good use of here, with threaded SMS, email, instant messaging and social networking with Facebook and others. The Milestone 3 will provide excellent 3G and Wi-Fi support, with DLNA allowing the streaming of visual content to a home TV.
There is speculation that the Milestone 3 will also support the docking ports of the Motorola Atrix, which will allow the Milestone 3 to be used as a laptop or a multimedia hub. Although this is unconfirmed it could prove likely as Motorola would surely not invest in these optional extras just for one smartphone.
The screen of the Milestone 3 will have a bump up in size to 4.3" making it the largest Milestone phone yet, and at the same time will have its interface improved to a qHD resolution. The phone will also run on a dual core processor with some sources stating the speed could be up to 1.2GHz.
The Milestone 3 will also come with a 5 megapixel camera with at least 720p video recording, although quite likely it could come with 1080p video support by the time it is released in September. The phone will come packing the same entertainment features that made earlier versions so successful, including excellent music and video support, YouTube support and many excellent apps and games from Android Market.
The Milestone 1 and 2 had previously become phenomenally popular due to their combination of an excellent smartphone operating system and an easy to use QWERTY keypad that made them ideal devices for all forms of written communication. The Milestone 3 will build on this while at the same time offering some more up to date features such as dual core and a qHD display. The Milestone 3 will be the new choice of phone for tap happy Android lovers.
