The MCSA Course consists of 4 individual MCP Courses and the home study courses are designed as theory-based courses but do contain all relevant information on how to complete practical exercises if you have the available equipment, software & resources available.
The MCSA Course will consist of the following MCSA Certification Home Study Courses:
1 Core Operating System Course (You must select one of the following courses):
70-210 - Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
70-270 - Installing, Configuring and Administering Microsoft Windows XP Professional
70-620 - Windows Vista, Configuring
2 Core Networking Course (Both required)
70-290 – Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment
70-291 – Implementing, Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure
1 Elective Course (You select one of the following)
70-284 – Implementing and Managing Microsoft Exchange Server 2003
70-431 – Microsoft SQL Server 2005 – Implementation and Maintenance
70-299 - Implementing and Administering Security in a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network
As an alternative to the above elective options,certain certification or certification combinations may substitute for an MCP elective.For example,CompTIA A+ and Network+ together or CompTIA A+ and Server+ together can be credited and substituted for an elective through a Microsoft and comptia exams partnership agreement.
