Most car owners want their cars to run fast. This provides them with a certain sense of pride as well as the satisfaction knowing that their vehicles can accelerate easily and perform well in relatively higher speed compared to other expensive or cheap new car models on the road. There are also other car owners who are not satisfied with their car’s current running performance. Due to this, some of them tried installing turbo on top of their car’s engine to improve its speed. In case you are also planning to use a turbo to boost your car’s speed, try to consider the following facts.

1. The actual mechanism of the turbo.

The turbo that is used in most cars actually performs a very simple job. It basically sucks plenty of air and supplies this to the car’s engine causing it to produce more horsepower or power output than the usual. Most of the time, the turbo is installed just above the car’s engine where it can easily provide the specific purpose which is increasing the vehicle’s speed.

Due to this, you cannot simply purchase a turbocharged car with ...
... a value similar to those that are included on the usual new car prices since this type of vehicle are more expensive compared to conventional cars. This is also the reason why most turbo-charged car owners pay larger premiums for their auto loans since the installment of the turbo dramatically inflate the vehicle’s price.

2. Turbo causes the other parts of the engine to wear out

Although a car’s turbo increases the engines performance, this also causes the other components of the car engine to wear out easily. The primary reason for this is because the turbo trigger these components to perform their tasks faster than normal making them prone to damages or wearing off.

Due to this, a turbo-charged vehicle needs to undergo regular parts replacement and this makes the car hard to maintain. Given this fact, a car with a turbo installed in it is not used for ordinary driving. Instead, this vehicle is only used for occasional drives since its parts wear out easily and the fuel consumption is relatively higher.
