Excessive dog barking can be a nuisance for pet owners as well as the neighbors and therefore it is necessary to reduce barking using means which are pet-friendly. One of the most effective ways of reducing dog barking is through using an anti-bark collar. This is a collar with an attached electronic device which releases an electrostatic shock, or an irritating sound or vibration each time the dog barks. Dogs then learn to associate the shock effect with their barking and this helps train them to reduce the same. Bark collars are safe for use on the pets as the amount of shock released is small enough to modify the dogs’ behavior without causing them any harm.

The anti-bark collar has a sensor device which is triggered by the dog’s barking and hence the shock, sound or vibration is only released when the dog barks. To ensure that the device in the collar is effective the sensor can be triggered either by the sound of the dog barking or the vibration associated with barking. Bark collars can be used by all types of dogs no matter the age or size. However, when buying ...
... the collar it is important to choose the size that will fit your dog so as to ensure that the collar won’t be too big come off easily or too tight to cause harm to your pet.

Used in the right way, bark collars are effective in reducing the number of times that dogs bark in quite a brief span of time. This is due to the fact that dogs have a high level of intelligence and are able to learn very quickly. After attaining the desired level of discipline for your dog then you can altogether stop using the collars but it is advisable to retain anti-bark collars just in case dogs relapse to bad behavior.

Anti-bark collars are cheaper than other means of good behavior training and hence can be used by all dog owners. Most of the bark collars are tough enough to withstand rowdy dog behavior and everyday exposure to unfavorable conditions such as water and dirt.

Most types of anti-bark collars are battery-powered. Some of them use built-in rechargeable battery which can be easily recharged when the batteries run out. It saves dog owner’s money spent on buying non-chargeable batteries.
