A Closer Look At The Feature Packed Htc Sensation
The name HTC is one you instantly relate to not only large screen phones but also ones of exceptional quality. Perfect examples of this can be found in some of their handsets such as the excellent Desire HD and the HD7 which is fundamentally the same model but running on the Windows 7 OS. This month sees a new model join the family in the form of the much anticipated Sensation, but does this newcomer offer much more than the still high specification more established models.
As with any new phone you naturally expect a jump in technical specification with features and technologies constantly evolving. This has never been more apparent than with the processor found on this new phone, which has not only increased in speed but now also utilises dual core properties. The effect of increased speed is obvious, with 1.2 Ghz offering a generally faster handset than the 1Ghz found on the previous offerings, but what does dual core bring to the party? The clue is in the name really, with all processors having one core or more, this one offers two. The advantage of such a system is that whilst the first core may be busy rendering ...
... a webpage for you to view the second may be unused. Thus if you wanted to take a photograph quickly without exiting your browsing the processor is primed and ready. Yes single core did offer multi tasking as well, but every task you performed placed more strain on the one core ultimately slowing down the phone. This new system really does look like the future for mobiles and one can only wonder just how far away quad core technology can be.
Perhaps the main reason that anybody may be considering the HTC Sensation is for its screen size, after all all of the extra technical spec is in place to support this. The high quality video capture is perfect for the screen, the processor means the screen does not slow down the phone to any great extent. So is this screen better than other 4.3 inch displays that can be found on other models. In a nutshell, yes. Although the 480 x 800 resolution found on phones such as the Desire HD is stunning and still relevant in the marketplace, HTC really needed to up their game in order to compete with the iPhone. One area where the iPhone was streets ahead was withs its Retina display. Thanks to HTCs latest efforts, this phone goes head to head with the Apple phone and comes out favorably, thanks not only to the 960 x 540 resolution but also the functional and eye catching contour screen, which as its names suggests is curved.
HTC have produced yet another stunning handset with this phone, and subsequently it looks set to win customers from the hallowed iPhone as well as appeal to the more general phone user.
The HTC Sensation and the Nokia X7 are coming soon.
