The Super Bowl is the biggest event in the United States on a yearly basis. The game attracts an enormous fan base as millions of people across the nation gather together to watch the big game. The game has grown a lot, but some of the most exciting Super Bowl moments came years ago in the 1970s and the 1980s.

The 1980 Super Bowl was played by the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Los Angeles Rams. The Steelers had been around as one of the best teams in the league for years and made a couple of Super Bowl appearances during the 1970s. They were back for more with Terry Bradshaw and the helm, trying to help the Steelers win another Super Bowl title.

The Rams were heavily favored to lose this game despite plowing through some stiff competition on their way towards the Super Bowl. They were marked as 10.5 point underdogs in the game. The game was scheduled to take place in Pasadena, California in a stadium that we know very well as the Rose Bowl.

The game started out with the Steelers jumping on the board. Their kicker, Matt Bahr, managed to kick home a 41 yard field goal to grab the 3-0 lead over Los Angeles. ...
... The Rams really need to find their way to the scoreboard quickly after that as the Steelers had the type of team that could gain momentum and keep people off of the board.

Before the quarter was over the Rams managed to score as Cullen Bryant ran in a 1 yard run to make the score 7-3 in favor of the Rams.

The second quarter started in a way that more people expected it to as the Steelers responded with a touchdown. Franco Harris managed to pound in a 1 yard run and the Steelers regained the lead, 10-7 over the Rams.

The Rams continued to stick tough and responded twice more in the 2nd quarter as their kicker, Frank Corral, managed to kick 2 field goals to go ahead at the half by a score of 13-10.

The Rams were shocking everyone by being ahead at the half, but the Steelers seemed ready to respond. Bradshaw hit Lynn Swann for a huge 47 yard play to score a touchdown and regain the lead in the 3rd quarter. The Rams continued to respond however and managed to score another touchdown. The extra point failed on the touchdown and the Rams were only up 2 points after that point.

The 4th quarter belonged to the Steelers as they found a way to score two more touchdowns. Bradshaw hit John Stallworth for a 73 yard pass to go ahead. Franco Harris finished things off later in the 4th by scoring on a 1 yard touchdown run, his second touchdown of the game. The Steelers went ahead 31-19 and would maintain that lead to become Super Bowl Champions. Terry Bradshaw was named Super Bowl MVP for his impressive performance as the Steelers took home another Super Bowl title.
