It Professionals See Comptia Certifications As Key To Career Advancement
The CompTIA A+ Certification is an entry level CompTIA A+ certification for hardware technicians.
A+ Certification exam was developed in 1993 to measure and validate the skills of entry level technicians. After fifteen years of its launch, there are more
than 700,000 A+ Certified technicians worldwide.
CompTIA A+ certification validates knowledge in core hardware and operating system (OS) technologies. This includes but not limited to installation,
configuration and basic networking.
You need to pass two exams to earn CompTIA A+ Certification.CompTIA A+ Certification exams are available in English and German languages.Number of Exams Two
CompTIA A+ Essentials (220-601) and one of the following: 220-602 or 220-603 or 220-604.
Certifications earned on or after January 1, 2011, are valid for 3 years, after which they will expire unless renewed by either passing the most current exam
for the certification or by earning credits through CompTIA’s continuing education program. If you earned this certification before 2011, it does ...
... not have
to be renewed and is considered valid for life.
Having an CompTIA A+ Practical Application proves that you have a broad base of knowledge and competency in core
hardware and operating system technologies including installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking.
A+ Certification affirms that you are capable of assembling a computer, installing operating systems and applications, and successfully troubleshooting them
when the inevitable happens (a user gets their hands on it).
Many companies require A+ certification of their new hires, and for many others A+ will be what makes your resume stand out from the competition. Even if
your line of work isn't directly related, you'll benefit from this kind of knowledge. A programmer who is helpless in the face of a blue screen, waiting for
a tech who is busy elsewhere, is a nonproductive programmer.
Sure, there are those who denigrate A+ as "just another useless certification" which won't make a difference in the grand scheme of things, but these people
already have jobs. Perhaps you don't, or you're interested in changing careers. Maybe you're not in a position to spend big cash and two-to-four at a college
for your degree. Maybe you're 16 and looking for a leg up on the summer-job competition. Having this certification will open doors not available to those who
lack it.
In order to receive CompTIA A+ certification a candidate must pass two exams. The first exam is CompTIA A+ Essentials, exam number 220-701. The CompTIA A+
Essentials examination measures necessary competencies for an entry-level IT professional with the equivalent knowledge of at least 500 hours of hands-on
experience in the lab or field. Successful candidates will have the knowledge required to understand the fundamentals of computer technology, networking, and
security, and will have the comptia network skills required to identify hardware, peripheral, networking, and
security components.
