More Movies For Rent Via Facebook

If you've been closely following this blog (as you should be) you may remember the story from a little while ago detailing Facebook's plans to venture into movie rentals starting with Warner Bros epic movie Dark Knight. If you can remember correctly I let you in on how Facebook recently decided to embark on this venture as this social medium does whatever it can to make Facebook a one-stop shop for all things entertainment. You may also remember my rant about how Facebook constantly implements new facets of the social networking site most of which are annoying and unmerited (I still feel that way) but this venture seemed to be a step in the right direction. Well, I'm guessing that Facebook users responded very well to the Dark Knight viewing access via the Dark Knight Facebook fanpage as it seems now they've gone and added a few other high demand movies to be viewed on Facebook as well.

Warner Bros have now released a few more films to be rented on Facebook. Warner Bros stepped out on a limb earlier this month with Dark Knight being its test dummy to see if Facebook users would take the bait. I think it's safe to say, ...
... with the adding of these new movies, that the bait was taken and run with. Warner Bros has now set out to offer very popular titles from the major motion picture company's index including Yogi Bear, Life as We Know It, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Inception.

If you're unfamiliar with watching movies via Facebook it's quite simple. You simply go to the movie's fanpage (it's easiest to find fanpage's by typing the title into the search box). Don't be alarmed if there aren't any bells and whistles indicating that the movie can be played right there on the page. You have to take the time out to look for it. Pan over to the left hand side of the Facebook page. Right under the wall, info, and photos tab you should notice a little tab that says watch. You click that tab and you watch (as if that wasn't self-explanatory).

Don't go thinking that you can watch these movies for free. The WB and Facebook aren't here to offer any handouts. They are just here to offer a convenient opportunity. In order to view these movies on the Facebook platform you must pay using 30 to 40 Facebook credits which equals about $3 or $4. I haven't the slightest idea how to accumulate Facebook credits so perhaps you can help me with that one.
