In the February of 1965 Ringo Star marries Maureen Cox and the band record their new album Help and second movie of the same title. The movie was filmed in the Bahamas. Ticket to Ride tops the charts for three weeks in April. In June they receive MBE's from the Queen and Lennon second book A Spaniard in the Works is published. August takes them to Ney York to play Shea stadium in front of 55,000. The same month they travel to LA and meet Elvis Presley in LA.

October the boys work with George Martin on their sixth album Rubber Soul and in December the boys tour the UK for the final time. They release a double A sided single We Can Work It Out/Day Tripper and it goes to number one for five weeks. Their sixth album is released.

January 1966 sees George Harrison marry his girlfriend Pattie Boyd. March of the same year John Lennon tells the London Evening Standard in an interview that the Beatles are now more popular than Jesus. April is spent in the recording studio recorded their seventh album Revolver. In June the boys tour Germany, ...
... Japan and Philippines and their single Paperback Writer tops the charts for two weeks. In August Christian groups staged protests which included burning records following Lennon's 'blasphemous' comments about being more popular than Jesus. The band became jaded and disillusioned around this time and decided to quit live performances for good.

In November Lennon meets Yoko Ono at her art exhibition in London. This was also around the time the band recorded Strawberry Fields Forever. In December the band recorded Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

In June of 1967 the band album Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is released. They also record All You Need Is Love and are watched by 400 million people on the BBC's One World global simulcast programme. The boys take a much needed holiday in July as their single All You Need Is Love hits the top spot for three weeks. Brian Epstein is found dead at his flat from an overdose in August.

1968 sees the boys record Lady Madonna before they go off to Rishikesh for some meditation with the Maharishi. In May of the same year the boys form their Apple Corps company. July sees the animated film Yellow Submarine open in London. They go on to record Hey Jude while continuing work on their new album. In August Cynthia Lennon files for divorce as Johns relationship with Yoko intensifies. Their single Hey Jude goes to number one for nine weeks in USA which went on to become one of the biggest selling singles there of all time. In October John and Yoko are raided by the drugs squad at Ringo's flat in London. They are caught with cannabis and fined £150.

1969 sees the boys have many rows with George walking out temporarily. They record Let It Be but recording is hard due to the strain and atmosphere. Having had no manager since the death of Brian Epstein, John, George and Ringo ask US businessman Allen Klein to look after the band's chaotic affairs but Paul was not happy about this. March is marry month as Paul marries Linda Eastman and John and Yoko marry in Gibraltar. John and Yoko hold the famous 'bed-in' at the Amsterdam Hilton. The single Get Back stays at the top of the UK charts for seven weeks. Ringo and McCartney work on solo albums around the end of the year.

In early 1970 some of the band members continue to record on the aborted album Let It Be. IN February John and Yoko become involved with Michael X's Black House project and support campaigns. In April of this year the boys announce their break-up. Paul McCartney then releases his first solo album. It was 10 years later that John Lennon was shot by Mark Chapman in the entrance of his New York home on Monday 8 December.
