When it comes to buying used cars, there are a lot of things to consider. First of all, you need to make sure that you know what kind of car you want, what type, what brand, what style, what model? Second of all you need to make sure that you have a good idea on a price range. For whatever reason, either you cannot afford it, or do not wish to pay that much, you do not want a new car. So what is your affordability on an older car, can you afford a few thousand dollars? Do you want to finance a car or just make a one time payment? For someone who has five thousand dollars available they face a tough decision. You can either buy a car for five thousand dollars or you can finance one, put that money down and make payments. There are pro's and con's to both sides of it. If you buy a car straight up with your money you do not have to worry about monthly payments, higher insurance rates, and you own the car outright. However, you also have to worry about warranties no longer being a factor, problems with the car because you are buying a much older one, and expensive repairs. This is where the long-term value of buying cars comes into ...
... play.

A newer used car is great because it is affordable. You can finance it and have affordable monthly payments and it also is in great working condition. Newer used cars can also come with a record of reliability which gives an expectation that you can depend on the car for years to come. Buying a used vehicle from a personal seller is always risky because if something major breaks on the car they are not obligated to give you your money back. However, by financing a used car with a reliable dealer you will get low monthly payments and if there is a major problem with the car they will take care of it. Keep in mind however that there is less chance of having a major issue with cars because they are thoroughly inspected before they are sold. That is the way to do great business: by selling people affordable, quality cars that will last them for years. Cars with a few years of age have more true value than brand new cars and older cars that need a lot of money in repairs. That's what makes these used cars such a great deal for anyone.
