From Race Hats To Racing Apparel, What To Wear To The Races

While any day at the races is always a great time, you can't always count on the weather. While there certainly isn't a dress code to auto racing, there's still sense in dressing practical. Take a look at these tips for wearing the right racing apparel. Take off your race hats, give respect to the National Anthem, and let the races begin.
Be Prepared
Auto racing can be an all day event, and the weather can be across the board. Since a lot of races are held in the summer, you can at least sometimes count on the heat. Wearing racing apparel that's light and cool is a good idea, but it's an even better idea to dress in layers. Bring a jacket, a sweater, race hats to keep away the rain. When evening hits, you'll be thankful you have that sweater to bundle up in, especially if you're a fan of events like the American Le Mans Series where races can last for 12 or even 24 hours.
Don't forget about the hot sun either. Since most stadium seating is right there in the unabashed sunlight, race hats are always a good idea. If you suffer from hair loss, they'll keep the skin from burning. They also cool the face and ...
... shield the eyes, so you can better focus on the race.
Be a True Fan
When it comes to racing apparel, loyalty is key. If you're a fan of a particular driver or team, dress the part. Wear race hats that feature you favorite driver's or team's logo or number. There's no end to the choices and ranges of clothing you can wear to show your love of the game. Before you hit the races, always make sure you've got racing apparel that shows off your love of who you support. It adds more fun to the race, and it makes you a real fan.
Remember Comfort
When choosing racing apparel, from t-shirts to racing hats, it's always good to err on the side of comfort. Hot summer days demand blue jeans, racing hats, cool t-shirts. You can get these items with the number of your favorite driver emblazoned across the front. You can also wear motor sports shirts that have hilarious sayings. They're great conversation starters during the pre-race tailgate party.
Racing apparel is a great way to show off your love of the game, but make sure it's comfortable. Race hats should have plenty of room to breathe so the sun doesn't boil your brains in the middle of a racing afternoon.
