Fairgrounds and picnic areas are excellent sites to search with your metal detector. People of all ages come together and what do they do? They all have money to spend, therefore some of this money will be dropped and end up buried in the ground; the perfect scenario for us treasure hunters.

Recreational vehicle parks, amusement parks and carnival sites are also good sites to find coins. I always take my Garrett Ace 250 metal detector with me to search for coins after the carnival packs up and leaves town and believe me I have found tons of coins. I have also found jewelry such as rings and bracelets and tons of other good stuff too.

Then there’s swimming areas like lakes and rivers. When people go swimming in these places they take off their clothes to put of a pair of trunks or a bathing suit on and guess what they drop, that’s right, coins too.

Try parking areas that are not paved, such as sandy, grassy or just plain dirt parking areas. Next, try children’s camp sites, summer camps, fishing camps and hunting camps where there are usually many people and maybe lots of treasures. I have had a lot ...
... of success in old home sites and I have found loads of coins, relics, buttons, buckles, bullets, a few pieces of jewelry etc….. Explore these places and get ready to fill your pockets with treasures.

Rounding out my list of places to look for buried treasure is under grandstands and bleachers. I know I have lost a few coins under bleachers and was unable to retrieve them so you can just imagine how many other people have too. Try looking under ski lifts, old camping grounds, around resort areas, stock car speedways and circus grounds. One site that must not be overlooked but you may need permission to search in are old church yards. Some of the churches in my area are hundreds of years old. Other such sites are old military bases which also have loads of treasures waiting to be found. I hope you have enjoyed these posts, and that I have provided good information on sites that you hadn’t thought of searching in. Have fun finding hidden treasure with your favorite metal detector. These places are an almost guarantee to give up their hidden treasures to those who are persistent and never give up.
