Glad you came back to continue in your search of great places to treasure seek. Now, regardless of where you live, there will most likely be or has been a school in or around your area that is hundreds of years old; some may not be standing, that is what makes this next resource so valuable.
I am talking about school records. Visit your local library and ask for old school records or try the local tax office sometimes these people will give you all the help you need if you only ask them. Using school records you can find when and where school buildings once stood and find the routes students took to and from school. You can also find out where the playground was this is an excellent place to find coins with your metal detector. We all know that schools hold carnivals and all sorts of fundraisers which always includes the handling of money or should I say the mishandling of money. So go ahead and add these great sources to your list of great places to go metal detecting in. Grab you favorite metal detector and metal detector headphones and search for you next great find where an old school once stood.
Other good ...
... sources include your local school board members. Many of these people are involved in the community in many ways and know about your town's history. I recently used my Garrett Ace 250 metal detector to find treasure in one of the local schools. This building was erected in 1929 and was recently vacated and is no longer in use. I got the proper permission to do some searching with my metal detector and although I knew that I wasn’t the first to look in this area, I was confident that with my experience in metal detecting I would find treasures that others missed. After a few minutes of starting, I found my first find which was a wheaty penny then some recent dated coins, but my best find was a gold ring with two small (very small) diamonds but it was pretty. I went there a few more times and found more wheaty pennies and other coins but that was it.
